Event Highlight:

On December 5th, 2018, SAIS International Finance Club presented its flagship event of the year – Panel on Private Equity Investment in Emerging Markets: Strategies, Risks, and Opportunities.

We are fortunate to have Professor Roger Leeds, Founding Chairman of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association and Director of the Center for International Business and Public Policy at SAIS to moderate the panel discussion. Our panelists came from a diverse background, covering the perspectives of IFC Asset Management Company, IDB Invest, and LatAm Trade Capital.

Panelists shared their favorite deal experiences with SAIS students and discussed the risks and opportunities of PE in emerging markets. They also shed light on industry trends such as localization of fund management teams and a continued imbalance in capital allocation across geographies and deal size.

The dynamic panel discussion received positive feedback from both students and faculty. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our panelists and audience again for a thought-provoking afternoon.
