Join us for Finance and Consulting Club Trivia Night! Are you a trivia geek? Do you dream of a dinner party with big name faculty members of the Economics Department? Sign up your team of 3-4 people now to prove your trivia prowess before professors and peers. Trivia topics will include all things SAIS, Consulting, Finance, and much, much more. If you don’t want to compete, bring a six pack or a bottle of wine (SAIS BYOB rules are in effect) and watch the show! All are welcome. Hard deadline for team signups is Tuesday, November 27 at 5:00pm.
The 2nd Annual Speed Interviewing Workshop – our biggest event of the year – is fast approaching (Monday, December 3)! Don’t miss your chance to practice mock interview with local alumni boasting experience in banking, multilateral investment, project finance, fund management, private equity, and more. This is your chance perfect your pitch and practice your interviewing skills. A networking reception with food and drink will follow.
Note that space is limited for this event (we had to turn students away last year). Please find more details about the event and the brief application process below, but note that applications must be submitted by Tuesday, November 27 to be considered. Early applicants will be given preference. Applicants must submit a resume and a half-page statement of interest

Nov 16: Association for Energy Economics Luncheon – Finance Club is coordinating a trip to the NCAC luncheon next Friday. The speaker will discuss the significance and impact of the Dodd-Frank reform bill on the US financial and energy sectors. For students, $5 includes a full lunch. Nov 14: FI Consulting Employer Presentation – JHU Krieger School of Arts and Science is organizing this presentation on summer internship opportunities at FI Consulting. The event will be held at 5:00pm in BOB 213. Please note: formal business attire is required, and students must be either US citizens or permanent US residents to be eligible for internships. Nov 16: Consulting Industry Panel – The Consulting Club is hosting panelists from the Eurasia Group, Accenture, and Pledge Guarantee for Health to discuss career opportunities in the consulting industry. The event will take place in Rome 203 between 12:30 – 2:00pm. Please signup in SAISWorks.
Nov 27: Careers in Investor Relations – The Finance Club is excited to host former MIPP student Andree Brands and 2nd year student JP Blardony, to discuss career opportunities for SAIS students in the field of investor relations. Nov 29: Finance and Consulting Club Trivia Night – Mark your calendars now for a night of fun and trivia in Kenney Auditorium as the members of 2 heavyweight career clubs at SAIS battle for trivia supremacy. Surprises and prizes will ensue. The event will take place from 7:00 – 9:00pm. Trivia participation will be limited to 10 teams (all are welcome to watch) – so make sure your team submits their application early!
Dec 3: Opportunities in the Office of International Affairs at the US Department of the Treasury – Career Services will host members of the IA Recruiting Committee to provide an overview of the full-time and internship opportunities available. The event will take place in the Career Services Conference Room from 12:30 – 2:00pm. RSVP in SAISWorks.
Dec 3: International Finance Club’s 2nd Annual Speed Interviewing Event – The club is excited to host SAIS alumni on campus for an evening of speed interviews and networking. The event will take place from 6:00 – 8:30pm in Kenney Auditorium. Space for students wishing to interview is limited so apply early, please submit your resume and a half-page statement of interest to email@example.com. By TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27. All SAIS students are encouraged to apply. If you’re interested in participating in the event as an interviewer, please contact Erik Hansen.
Dec 6: Dodd-Frank Roundtable Discussion – The SAIS International Finance Club will host Professors Leeds, Eichner, and Brown in a roundtable discussion on Dodd-Frank and its effects on the financial industry. Professor Eichner is the Deputy Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Board and teaches Derivatives here at SAIS, and Professor Brown is a partner in the Leveraged Finance Group of Milbank, a securities law firm based in New York, and teaches Financial Regulation at SAIS. Light refreshments will be available, and students are encouraged to bring their lunch. The event will take place from 12:30 – 2:00pm in N517. Please RSVP with Erik Hansen.
