September 11, 2012

On September 20 at 12:45pm, Donald Kohn will speak to the club on the topic of macroprudential regulation and its implications forfinancial globalization.  Mr. Kohn is a member of the macro-prudential authority in the UK, former Vice Chairman of the Fed, and is currently at Brookings.  Space is limited; please RSVP if you plan to attend (additional details below).

The club will hold a leadership meeting tonight at 5:00pm.  If you are interested in planning events and strengthening club activities this year, you are welcome to attend.  Please email Sarah Ralston for details.  There will be a general membership meeting early next week – exact date and time TBD.

We are in the process of planning a summer internship roundtable in the coming weeks aimed at providing a forum in which second-year students who spent the summer working in finance-related internships can share their experiences with first year-students.  If you are interested in speaking on the panel (exact date and time tbd), please email Erik Hansen.

Lastly, two of our Vice Presidents, Valerie Gadala-Maria and Annie O’Neill did a terrific job planning last week’s happy hour and club fair table.  The event was a huge success – thanks in no small part to the leadership of Valerie and Annie.  Thanks as well to all the volunteers who staffed the bar, ID check, and club table.
