SAIS International Finance Club Weekly Newsletter – September 4, 2012

The club is kicking things off this semester with our SGA-sponsored Finance Club Happy Hour this Friday (Sep 7) at the usual time and place.  If you are interested in helping out, please get in touch with Annie O’Neill and Valerie Gadala-Maria.

The club will be hosting a summer internship roundtable in the coming weeks aimed at providing a forum in which second-year students who spent the summer working in finance-related internships can share their experiences with first year-students.  If you are interested in speaking on the panel (exact date and time tbd), please email Sarah Ralston.

Mark your calendars now.  On September 20 at 12:45pm, Donald Kohn will speak to the club on the topic of macro-prudential regulation and its implications for financial globalization.  Mr. Kohn is a member of the macro-prudential authority in the UK, former Vice Chairman of the Fed, and is currently at Brookings.  Event details will be made available shortly.

Lastly, the club will hold its first general membership meeting in the coming weeks – stay tuned for additional details.  Good luck with your first week of classes!
