February 6: JHU Business Plan Competition Information Session – Professor Lawrence Aronhime, faculty member at the Whiting School of Engineering will provide details about this annual competition. See this week’s SAIS Blueser for additional details. 5:00 – 6:00pm 1625 Mass. Ave. NW, Room 201.

February 7: Finance Club Leadership Meeting – The Finance Club is holding its first leadership meeting of the spring semester on Tuesday evening at 6:00pm. On the agenda: Finance 101 Speaker Series, spring semester event planning coordination and ideas, first-year representatives and more. February 8: “Beyond Banking: Promoting Sustainability in Latin America’s Financial Services” – WHS is hosting Daniela Carrera Marquis (SAIS ’90), Chief, Financial Markets Division, IDB from 12:45 – 1:45pm in N517. For further information and to RSVP email Jennifer Zurek.

February 9: “Kiva Fellows Program” – Career Services is hosting Jacob Schultz, a program manager for the Kiva Fellows Program. The event will take place in N507 from 12:30 – 2:00pm (SAIS students only).

February 22: “Private Equity and Clean Energy: Prospects and Challenges in Emerging Markets” – WHS is hosting Joe Lipscomb (SAIS ’90), Co-founder and Partner at Arborview Capital from 12:45 – 1:45pm in N517. Professor Gonzales will moderate the event. Please note that the event is limited to SAIS students only, and the speaker’s remarks are strictly off record. Email Jennifer Zurek to RSVP.


February 24: “IDB at a Glance: An Introduction for Students” – The IDB cordially invites undergraduate and graduate students to its annual conference geared towards informing students about the IDB and its work. The event will feature several presentations from specialists on the institution’s mission, priorities and operations in addition to a resources fair showcasing IDB research, initiatives and employment for young professionals.
